Gallow Green is a rooftop bar and restaurant atop the McKittrick Hotel — a verdant garden escape in the middle of Chelsea, set in the same 1939 speakeasy world as the hotel below. Each year I designed the seasonal poster and menu. What started as a poster to draw Sleep No More audiences upstairs after the show became a full rebrand of the restaurant. Drawing from turn-of-the-century botanical journals, vintage European liquor advertisements, and erotica, I developed a visual language that felt like a discovered artifact — lush, hand-crafted, and rooted in the risque world of the McKittrick. The system extended across food and drinks menus, event materials for the summer programming, and seasonal updates for recurring series like Champagne Brunch and Sunset Sundays.
